Bio

Myrtle was the daughter of W. H. Newton lewis and Ellen (Elliott) Lewis and the wife of Henry E. Van Geem, Sr. She attended Eastland and Cisco High Schools. She worked at the Eastland County Courthouse for 15 years in the county tax office, county clerk's office and district clerk's office. She was appointed district clerk while in the district clerk's office. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and United Methodist Women and Suzannah Wesley Sunday School Class at First United Methodist Church. A loving wife and mother, she and Henry reared three children, Frances (mrd Sam G. Sproles), H. Neil and Henry E.(Jr.) Van Geem.
