Atlantic (Iowa) Evening News January 12, 1911 Joseph Eshelman of this township received the sad intelligence one day the past week that his brother, Dan, who for many years was a resident of Caldwell, Kansas had died at his home on the morning of the 5th from cancer, from which he had been suffering for a number of years. Owing to the weather Mr. Eshelman decided that it was not best for him to venture out and did not attend the funeral. - Griswold American
