Mr. Dayton died Wednesday, April 27, 2005, at a local hospital. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens under direction of Becker Funeral Home. He was born Sept. 30, 1917, east of Lawton to Algernon and Hazel Goodman Dayton. He married Elwa Woodson on Dec. 25, 1941, in Lawton and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked for L.W. Duncan Printing and Spragues Grocery Store. He retired from the U.S. Post Office in 1976 after 28 years of service. He was a former member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Lawton and First Baptist Church in Kingston, where he served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher and treasurer. He was a member of First Baptist East. Survivors include his wife, of the home; his children and their spouses: Darrell and Loretta Dayton, Elaine and Gene Simmons, Bobby Dayton, Marilyn and Rick Kitzrow and Neal and Bonnie Dayton, all of Lawton; Linda and Don Daigle, Houston; Mary Sue Morin, Henderson, Nev.; and Debbie and Charles Duggar, Duncan; grandchildren and their spouses: Leesa Johnson, Mikie Salazar, Mark Simmons, David and Melanie Simmons, Brent and Karen Dayton, Chad Dayton, Todd Dayton, Bryan and Susan Kitzrow, Emily Kitzrow, Philip Champouillon, Shannon and Kris Anton and Brandi Dayton; his great-grandchildren: Justin and Tiffany Bradley, Kasie Johnson, Tami Johnson, John Ryan Salazar, Jeremy Salazar, Jordan Simmons, Adam Simmons, Jacob DeHaven, Jonathan Kitzrow, Rebekah Kitzrow, Joshua Kitzrow, Sage Anton and Kristopher Anton; a great-great-grandchild, Amiee Bradley, two sisters: Zona Wilson, Edmond; and Helen Elek and her husband, Joe, Dallas; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Keith Dayton.
