Zona Maurine Wilson, 93, passed away on Saturday, October 13, 2007. She was born in Comanche County, OK, November 17, 1913, to Alger and Hazel Goodman Dayton. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Loy W. Wilson; her son Lynn W. Wilson; and her brothers, Keith and Lloyd Dayton. She is survived by her sister, Helen Elek; two daughters, Carol Ashmore and husband, Gerald, Sharon Brown and husband, Charlie; grandchildren, Gerald Ashmore Jr., Steve Ashmore, Kim Holzer, Matt Wilson, and Julie Wilson; and great-grandchildren, Cody, Eric, Christopher, Nicholas and Jaden. She was a classroom teacher who began her career in a one-room school near Lawton and completed her devotion to education after seventeen years in the Putnam City district. She was a faithful member of University Place Christian Church and Crown Heights Christian Church. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Memorials may be made to Crown Heights Christian Church. The family will receive guests at the funeral home Monday, October 15, 2007 from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, October 16, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Highland Cemetery in Lawton, Oklahoma
