Fort Bend Herald, September 9, 2015: Melvin Loesch was born November, 18, 1929 in Beasley, TX, to John and Matilda (Schneider) Loesch. He passed away on Monday, September 7, 2015, at the age of 85. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 10, 2015, at St. John's United Church of Christ, 1513 West Street, Rosenberg, TX 77471, with Rev. Daniel Haas presiding. Burial will follow at Davis-Greenlawn Cemetery, Rosenberg, TX. Visitation will be from 5-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 9, 2015, at Garmany & Carden Funeral Directors Chapel, 1201 Fourth Street, Rosenberg, TX 77471. Melvin worked his whole life in the farm equipment field; first working for Schult Equipment Company, Bennett International, Case Power & Equipment, and finally Hlavinka Equipment Company. He was a hard worker all of his life. He came out of retirement many times. He wanted to keep busy and enjoyed helping his many farming friends. He spent many weekends dove and quail hunting with friends, his sons, and grandsons. He also enjoyed spending time at his cabin in Matagorda. After the death of his wife in 2004, he dedicated his days to taking care of his daughter, Sharon. Melvin is preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Joyce Tielke Loesch; his parents, John and Matilda Loesch; brothers, Elroy Loesch and Clarence Loesch; sisters, Laura Harbes, Sadie Zikhur, and Doris Graeber. He is survived by his children, Larry D. Loesch and wife, Peggy, Sharon Loesch, Patsy Kubes and husband, Jerome, Kevin Loesch and wife, Linda, Kathy Wollgast and husband, Terry; grandchildren, Stefanie Stanley and husband, Bobby, Stacey Upton and husband, Tony, Alissa Scanlin, Amanda Roberts and husband, Derek, Brent Wollgast and wife, Brooke, Brian Loesch and fiancée, Natalie Skyrm, Kari Hummel and husband, Terry, Kyle Wollgast and wife, Rianne; great-grandchildren, Austin, Mason, and Baby Stanley due in March, Erich, Madison, and Makenzie Upton, Morgan Kubes, Westyn and Reece Hummel, Rylee and Gavyn Wollgast, Corbin Loesch, and Evelyn Wollgast. Pallbearers are grandsons Brent Wollgast, Kyle Wollgast, Brian Loesch, Tony Upton, Terry Hummel, Derek Roberts, and Bobby Stanley. Memorials may be given to St. John's United Church of Christ Memorial Fund, 1513 West Street, Rosenberg, TX 77471; or to the Rosenberg Professional Firefighters Association.
