Elmer J. Herl, 78, Overland Park, KS, passed away Sunday, February 21, 1999, at Villa St. Francis Care Center, Olathe, KS. Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 24, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 103rd St. & King, Overland Park, KS; entombment in Resurrection Cemetery, Lenexa, KS. Visitation will be 6-7 p.m. Tuesday at Park Lawn Funeral Home, where the rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Community Center, or Villa St. Francis Care Center. Elmer Herl, was a longtime resident of Kansas City, was a WWII veteran and a member of the Knights of Columbus. Survivors include his wife, Nadine Herl; daughter, Sherry Barthol and her husband, Stephen, Leawood, KS; three grandchildren, Lauren, Stephen, and Joseph Barthol; four brothers, Richard Herl, and Virgil Herl, both of Hayes, KS, Clifford Herl, Liberal, KS, and James Herl, Des Plaines, IL; and three sisters, Sister M. Flavia, Fond du Lac, WI, Eleanor Simms, Blue Springs, MO, and LorraineBoyles, Kansas City, KS. Kansas City Star, MO, 2/23/1999
