Bio
Pete Andrew Martinka, 90, of Crawford, Texas, passed away Saturday, March 18, 2006, at the McGregor Nursing Home in McGregor, Texas. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Monday, March 20, 2006, at at Goodnight Funeral Home in Bartlett. Funeral will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, March 21, at SS Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Granger with Rev. Joseph Nisari officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Granger. Pete was born in Granger, Texas, to the late Frank J. and Mary (Nejtek) Martinka. On November 24, 1938, he married Martha Kaderka in Granger. Pete enjoyed working in his lovely garden, building bird houses, and many more forms of art. Most of all, he enjoyed visiting with his family and playing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha; sons-in-law, Joe William and Lantice "Sonny" Tomlinson; grandson, David; two brothers; and two sisters. Survivors include daughters, Georgie Kleibrink and husband, Ron, of Woodway, and Barbara Oswald, of Crawford; sons, Pete Edward Martinka and wife, Linda, of Crawford, and Larry Martinka and wife, Kathy, of Weir; grandchildren: Steve Behringer and wife, Brenda, of Decatur, Randy Behringer and wife, Stephanie, of Haslet, Richard Williams and wife, Kim, of Crawford, Karen Daniels and husband, Brian, of Temple, Melissa Harrison and husband, Dusty, Jason Martinka and Edward Martinka, of Crawford, Candance Martinka and Larry Joe Martinka, of Weir; 21 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; seven brothers; five sisters; and numerous nieces and nephews.
