Bio

Helen Isadora Oryschak, 82, of Granger passed away Sunday, June 19, 2005 at the SPJST Nursing Home in Taylor. The Rosary will be recited 7:00 PM, Wednesday, June 22, 2005 at Providence Funeral Home. Celebration of Life Mass will be 10:00 AM, Thursday, June 23, 2005 at SS. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church with Father Isidore Ndagizimana officiating. Burial will follow at the Holy Cross Cemetery. Helen was born on April 4, 1923 to Frank J. and Mary (Nejtek) Martinka in Granger, Texas. She was married to William Oryschak on November 27, 1945 in Granger. Helen enjoyed working on crossword puzzles and doing cross stitch. She also like listening to her Czech music and watching soap operas. Helen was a honorary member of the KJT and the Knights of Columbus. She was also a member of SS. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church. Helen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband William Oryschak; two brothers, John Martinka and Frank Martinka, Jr.; and one sister, Hattie Stuchly. She is survived by eight brothers, Timothy Martinka of Weir, Peter Martinka of Crawford, Paul Martinka and wife, Martha of Georgetown, Cyril Martinka of Cransion, RI., Joe Martinka and wife, Ann Merle of Marble Falls, George Martinka of Alice, Bill Martinka of Chicago, IL., and Henry Martinka and wife Frances of Bartlett; five sisters, Mary Kuba of Altair, Tracy Gillam and husband, Bob of Granger, Martha Kaderka of Granger, Agnes Polasek of Shiner, and Annie Klepac and husband, Louis of Georgetown; and numerous nieces and nephews.
