Ottis Clinton Meyers was born 3 September 1874 in Walker County, Georgia, the 5th of twelve children born to Andrew Jackson Meyers (1843-1908) and Caroline Sophrona Phillips Meyers (1845-1903). Siblings: Henry James Meyers (1866-1904), Louisa Hazeltine [Meyers] Burk (1868-1926), William E. Meyers (1870-1887), Juliet Ada [Meyers] Poole (1873-1910), Virginia Meyers (1876-1878), Lorenzo Madison Meyers (1878-1937), Jesse Lee Meyers (1880-1923), Nora Mary [Meyers] Walden (1882-1965), George P. Meyers (1884-1947) Freddie Meyers (1886-1887), and Homer Meyers (1889-1911). He grew up on the family farm near Lookout Mountain on the Georgia/Tennesse border. Ottis was employed as a Switchman for Southern Railroad. He was 53 years of age when he passed away 27 December 1928 in Chattanooga, Hamilton, Tennessee. Cause of death was Acute Nephritis.
