Bio

John Edward "Eddy" Goblish was born on 18 May 1915, to Michael and Rose (Serbus) Goblish, in Henryville Township, Renville County, Minnesota. Eddy married Martha Magdalen Trochlil on 24 August 1937, in St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Olivia, Minnesota. They had one daughter and two sons. After John Edward's first wife, Martha Magdalen, died from cancer in 1964, he married Mabel Green on 18 January 1974. Eddy retired from farming in 1980. His hobbies were fishing and playing cards. John Edward Goblish died, at the age of 90, on 29 July 2005, at the Olivia Health Care Center, Olivia, Renville County, Minnesota. John Edward was survived by his daughter, two sons, and two sisters. His parents, two brothers, and two sisters preceded him in death. Mass of Christian Burial was held at the St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Olivia; Father Mark Steffl officiated. Eddy was buried next to his first wife, Martha, in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Bechyn, Renville County, Minnesota. Pallbearers were Leonard Malecek, Henry Houdek, Robert Goblirsch, Harold Goblish, Edward Wertish, Jr., and Eugene Kohout.
