Bio

John Wesley Jackson, second son of Andrew and Malinda Jackson was born Nov. 14, 1873, in Mercer Co., Mo. He moved to Iowa with his parents where they lived ten years and from there they came to Fullerton, Nebr., 13 years ago. The deceased lived with his parents on the farm until his marriage with Miss Emma Richel, June 21, 1899. The newly married couple made their home in the village of Fullerton for three years after which they went to farming. At the age of 18 John was converted and joined the M. E. Church at Villsea, Ia. Six years ago he and his wife joined the U. Evangelical church at North Star. During the recent revival in Fullerton, he was forward at the alter to get a fuller experience in the Christian life. That same evening his daughter Vesta who was staying at her grandparent's home said ‘I don't want to go to heaven because papa won't be there.' When her father came in he was told what she had said and he promised his little daughter and his parents to meet them all in heaven. Three years ago while riding on a load of straw he fell from the wagon and injured on the head and sustained other injuries. Last fall he was thrown from a horse and injured his head again. Three weeks before his death the members of his family noticed that he acted strangely at times. On January 4 a physician was called. He complained of pains in the head. At first it was thought he had the lagrippe later the doctor pronounced the aliment to be a leakage of a blood vessel in the brain. About midnight on Jan. 9 he became suddenly worse. One spasm after the other followed, he died in the 15th spasm. The deceased leaves behind to mourn their loss his wife and three children, Vesta, May, Walter, Verl aged 5 and 4 respectively. The last child was born on the day of the funeral. Also father and mother, two brothers and four sisters. May the lord grant them a reunion in heaven. Interment took place Jan. 10 in the Fullerton Cem.
