Fullerton Post (Fullerton, Nebr.), October 20, 1910, p. 1, col. 6 MAIL CARRIER DROPS DEAD William H. Jackson Dies Suddenly at His Home Saturday Noon The community was startled last Saturday on hearing that William Jackson, whom they had seen on the streets but a few minutes before, was dead. A few weeks before he had a brief illness from which he had recovered so that he was about his daily work once more. Saturday morning he was on the streets seemingly in usual health. He went home about noon, drew his chair near his mother and was pleasantly chatting with her when suddenly he gasped for breath and was gone. Mr. Jackson was born in Jefferson county, March 22, 1868 and died in Fullerton, Neb., Oct. 15, 1910. He removed with the family from Iowa to Neb. in Nov. 1892. He has lived in and near Fullerton ever since. He proffessed faith in Christ in his twenty-fifth year and united with the church leading an exemplary life until death called him. He was a devoted son, a respected citizen and had a wide circle of friends. He is the sixth of a family of ten who have died in about five years. The aged mother has the sympathy of all. A large audience was at the Evangelical church Sunday afternoon to pay a last word of tribute of respect and to hear words of comfort and admonition. The services were in charge of Rev. Evans who spoke these words: "There is but a step between [life] and death."
