January 31, 1918, p. 1, col. 3 Walter Jackson Dies Walter Jackson, a young lad of 16 years of age, died at the home of his sister near St. Edwards, on Tuesday afternoon after a lingering illness of several months duration. The funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock at the Evangelical church in this city. Rev. Con Hewitt officiated. Walter was a very bright young lad and made numerous friends by his genial manner. He is a son of Mrs. R.D. George, who with other relatives have the sympathy of the entire community in their loss. '''''''''''''' News Journal (Fullerton, Nebr.), February 1, 1918, p. 10, col. 3 Walter Verl Jackson Walter Verl Jackson was born on Jan. 26, 1902, 3 1/2 miles from North Star, it was called Honscott place, and lived in Nance county all his life. For the last month he was taken ill with Tuberculocus of glands and was only bedfast four days. He passed away on Tuesday morning about 4:30 o'clock. He has suffered during his period of sickness. Walter leaves to mourn, one sister Vesta, one brother Archie, mother and step-father and a host of other relatives. His father died when he was but a little boy four years old. He was baptized at the North Star Evangelical church while small. The funeral services were held from the Fullerton Evangelical church on Jan. 30, 1918. Rev. L. Lohr assisted by Rev. Con Hewitt conducted the services.
