Bio

Athie Jayne Wallace Klemm, 77, passed away at her home in Merit on June 6, 2017 after a long, hard fought battle with cancer. Her husband, son and daughter were at her side. She was born August 29, 1939 to Rev. Isaac Duffy and Bessie Lou (Wallis) Wallace in McKinney, Texas. She married Jerald “Jerry” Klemm March 26, 1959. The youngest of nine children, Athie Jayne grew up on the family farm, which has been in the family for 133 years and is now certified as a Texas Land Heritage Farm. She returned to that farm as a young adult and remained there until recent years. She taught school for 28 years with the majority of her teaching career spent as an elementary educator in McKinney ISD. Jayne is survived by her husband of 58 years, Jerry, of Merit. Son, Jason Klemm and his wife Deidra, also of Merit. Daughter, Joanna Thornton and her husband Joel of Celeste. Five granddaughters, Jessica Carter, Kennedy and Katy Klemm, and Samantha and Emma Thornton. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, and two sisters. Lynch Funeral Home
