Joseph E. Valasek, died Monday, June 24, 2013 at his home in St. Paul, Nebraska. Joe was born September 27, 1943 east of Wolbach to Michael John "John" and Anna Bernice (Kowalski) Valasek. Joe was baptized and attended parochial school at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Spalding, Nebraska. Joe then attended country school north of Palmer, Nebraska. Joe was united in marriage to Linda Coplen on April 12, 1969 in O'Connor, Nebraksa. Joe was a ranch hand and farmer in North Platte, Nebraska for many years before he came back to the area and worked for several years at the Cottonwood Ranch north of Palmer, Nebraska. Joe enjoyed family gatherings, fishing, and playing his accordion. Joe is survived by: children, Patrick James & his wife, Tia Valasek of Grand Island, Nebraska, Tonya & her husband, Justin Brandt of Phillips, Nebraska and Edmund Eugene Valasek of St. Pau, Nebraska; granddaughter, Jade Brown; step grandchildren, Jade Longbine and Jefferey Martin, Jr.; sister, Irene Shizoski of Iowa; brothers, Alfred & Betty Valasek of Genoa, Nebraska and Mike & DeLores Valasek of St. Paul, Nebraska; former wife, Linda & husband Jim Moore of Scotia, Nebraska and a host of family and friends. Joe was preceded in death by: parents; brothers, Leo, Allie, Ed and George Valasek.
