(Newspaper obituary) Mrs. Anna Berns Buried on Friday Neighbors and friends in large numbers attended the funeral services held from the St. Ann's Catholic church in Campbell Friday morning for Mrs. Anna Berns residing south of Bladen, who passed away, Wednesday, March 1st, attesting the high esteem in which she was held by all. Mrs. Berns was known as a kind neighbor, and indulgent and loving mother and homemaker, the type whose place is hard to fill and who will be sadly missed by family and friends. Sincere sympathy is extended to those left to mourn her passing. Anna M. Haller was born in Chicago, Ill., Aug. 13, 1869, and passed away at her home near Bladen, March 1, 1933, aged 63 years, 6 months and 15 days. She was the daughter of Charles and Elizabeth Haller and one of ten children. When two years of age she moved with her parents to Urbana, Ill., and two years later to Kankake, where they resided until they came to Webster county, Nebr., in 1885. She was united in marriage to Joseph P. Berns, Jan. 25, 1892, at Red Cloud, Nebr. The family resided at Wymore, Nebr., for nine years. In the spring of 1901 they moved to Webster county and took up their residence on the farm four miles south of Bladen which has since been her home. To this union twelve children were born, seven daughters and five sons, two daughters preceding her in death, one during infancy and the other at the age of 8 years. Her husband passed away Jan. 12, 1928. Those surviving who mourn her passing are her five daughters, Mrs. Millard McNair, of Bladen; Mrs. Elmo Clutter, of Inavale; Mrs. Jos. Dusek and the Misses Marie and Frances Berns of Bladen; five sons, Joseph, Henry and William, of Bladen; Ernest and Herman, of Culbertson; three brothers, Charles and Peter Haller, of Culbertson; and Frank Haller of Bladen; three sisters, Mrs. J. S. Bogg, of Lincoln; Mrs. Wayne Bogart, of McLouth, Kans; and Mrs. Mary Copley, of Culbertson, besides 13 great grandchildren.
