The Howells Journal - Thursday January 30, 1975 Furneral Services for a Howells native, Mrs Rose Loukota, 79, of Omaha was held Thurdsay at St. Adalbert's Catholic Church. Interment was in Winner, South Dakota. Rosary Prayers were recited at the Dworak Mortuary in Omaha on Wednesday evening. Rose Karnik, one of the seven children of Charles and Marie(Kalisek) Karnik, was born in Howells, Her education was received at the Howells Public School. After her marriage to Mr. Loukota, the couple resided for many years in Winner S.D. Survivors include four sons, Albert and Edward, Omaha, George, Coucil Bluffs Iowa, and Frank of Germany; two daughters, Mrs Lotie Kudera, Tucson Ariz, and Mrs Curtis(Ann) Wentz, Phoenix Ariz; 26 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Sister Emmanuela de N.D. a former area teacher and now retired at the Convent de Notre Dame, Omaha, and Mrs Mildred Higgins, Pleasant Hill, CA She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Mrs Anna Beran and Mrs Mary Arnold; brothers Emil and Joseph Karnik; and step-father Matej Zacek.
