The People's Banner (David City, Nebraska) 11 Jan 1951, Thu Page 4 Joseph Soukup Died Monday, Dec. 18 in Lincoln Hospital Funeral services for Joseph Soukup, 72, Dwight, were held Thursday, Dec. 21, at 9:30 from the Assumption Catholic church in Dwight, with the Rev. Joseph Tupy officiating. Mr. Soukup died Monday, Dec. 18 in the St. Elizabeth hospital in Lincoln. He had been in poor health for two years. Burial was in St. Mary's Catholic cemetery, Dwight. Joseph Soukup, the son of Jacob and Mary Soukup was born February 14, 1878. On October 6, 1908, he was united in marriage to Miss Fannie Trousil. To this union were born three children, Joe Soukup, Dwight; Mrs. Emma Hottovy, Ulysses; Mrs. Pauline Divis, Valparaiso. These children, two brothers, Frank of David City, John of Dwight; a sister, Mary Soukup, Dwight; nine grandchildren and his wife are left to mourn. Mr. Soukup had been engaged in farming most of his life. He was a member of the Assumption Catholic Church of Dwight.
