Bio

According to the 1900 census he was born December 1889 in Nebraska. This date contradicts the year inscribed on his gravestone (1890). ``````````````````````````````` Butler County Press (David City, Nebr.), January 25, 1905, p. 5, col. 4 Anton, the 15-year-old son of Jacob Soukup residing northeast of town had his skull crushed by a kick from a horse. He and his brothers had hitched to a sled, a team of western horses which they recently purchased. Something went wrong wit the double trees and Anton got out to fix it. While stooping over near the horses heels one of them kicked, striking him on the top of his head. Dr. Marron was called but medical skill was of no avail. He never regained consciousness but died Saturday night about 12 hours after receiving the injury. Funeral services were held at the Catholic church here Monday, afer which a very large concourse of mourning relatives and friends followed his remains to their last resting place in the Catholic cemetery near here. - Brainard Clipper.
