Bio

According to the 1900 census she was born March 1855 in Bohemia, emigrated to the United States in 1879, had been married 26 years, and was the mother of eight children, seven then living. At that time she and her husband farmed in Oak Creek township, Butler County, Nebr. with their seven children. Birth date calculated from age at death. The year contradicts the year inscribed on her gravestone (1854). ````````````````````````````` Brainard Clipper (Brainard, Nebr.), January 26, 1922, p. 1, col. 5 Mrs. Jacob Soukup, age 68 years 3 months, 19 days, passed away at her home, [ illegible ] miles south and 1 mile west of Brainard about 5 o'clock Wednesday morning. Death resulted from pneumonia. Funeral services will be held in the Dwight Catholic church, Friday morning, and burial will take place in the Catholic cemetery at Brainard.
