Bio

VETERAN US ARMY WORLD WAR II Our beloved dad, grandpa, brother, uncle and friend passed away on December 25, 2015, at the age of 94. He was born in Lehi, Utah, on May 9, 1921, to Joseph Ernest and Azalia Brooks Barnes. He was also raised in Lehi. Lynn married Shannon Rae Anderson on March 7, 1953, in Ely, Nevada. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on January 23, 1964. Lynn was inducted into the United States Army in October 1942 and served until 1945. He served in a Railroad Operations Battalion and helped run the Alaskan Railroad during World War ll. Together they had three sons: Ernest Lee (Janine) Barnes, Lehi Utah; Jay Lynn (Dora) Barnes Vernal, Utah; Heber Kent (Tami) Barnes, Cedar Fort, Utah. They had many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is survived by one brother, Freeman J. (Anna Mae) Barnes; and one sister, June LaFern Winters. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm, Thursday December 31, 2015, at Wing Mortuary, 118 E. Main Street, Lehi, Utah. A viewing will be held at 10:30 a.m. prior to the funeral.
