Jay Lynn Barnes March 9, 1957 ~ June 1, 2021 (age 64) Jay Lynn Barnes, age 64, passed away on June 1, 2021. Jay was born March 9, 1957 in American Fork, Utah, to Ernest and Shannon Barnes. He graduated with his high school diploma in the class of 1969. Jay loved fishing, hunting, spending time in the garden and talking to family and friends, some of his passions were music and working at the Simplot mine where he made most of his lifelong friends. He loved his motorcycles and his tractors; you could always find him working on projects and humming or tapping to a tune. He loved spending time with his family and watching his grandkids play and help him in the garden, he really loved it when they came over and shared cookies and other sweets with him. Jay will be dearly missed by his friends and family; we will always cherish our memories with him. We thank our friends and family for the prayers and support through this difficult time. Jay is survived by his children: DeLynn (Rico) Aguilar of Roosevelt, Zackariah David (Marci) Barnes, and Nyshia (Aaron) Hacking of Vernal and Kira Lynn Barnes of Vernal. His grandchildren Emmett Barnes, LynnDe Aguilar, Rylynn Hacking, Nora Barnes, Ava Barnes, and two expecting grandbabies he was very eager to meet. Jay is preceded in death by his wife Dora De Burgess Barnes, his father Ernest Lynn and his mother Shannon Rae Barnes. Funeral services for Jay will be held Friday June 11, 2021 at the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home, 410 North 800 West, Vernal UT. A visitation for family and friends will also be held at the funeral home on Thursday June 10, 2021 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm and Friday from 9:45 am - 10:45 am. Interment in the Maeser Fairview Cemetery in Vernal. Services are entrusted to the care of Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home. Contributor: GlennaRae Perkins (48288369)
