Bio
June Laferne Barnes Winters, age 88, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2021, surrounded by her loving children. She was born the youngest of 10 children to Joseph Earnest and Azalia Brooks Barnes on December 18, 1932 in Lehi, Utah. She had many fond memories growing up in Lehi. She graduated from Lehi High School in 1951. She married the love of her life, Norman Ray Winters on April 4, 1953 and was later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on July 22, 1963. A big part of her life and joy were her five children. She loved singing and playing the piano. Many memories were made camping and playing games with her family and friends. She worked as a grocery clerk for Price Bros. Market and then as a teller for the State Bank of Lehi. She is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had a strong testimony of the gospel. Serving as the ward chorister and as an ordinance worker in the Mt. Timpanogos Temple were some of her favorite callings. She is survived by her 4 children, Colette Winters Stillman, Connie (Michael) Parkes, Kevin (Holly) Winters, and Weston Winters, 27 grandchildren, 62 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-granddaughter. Preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Norman Barnes Winters, granddaughter Taycee Winters, grandson Zachary Don Winters, son-in-law Charles Keith Stillman, sisters Sarah Barnes, Evelyn (Charles) Slater, Lois (Dutch) Turner, and brothers Floyd (La Ferne) Barnes, Elwin (Rose) Barnes, Lynn (Shannon) Barnes, Jack (Idona) Barnes, and Freeman (Anna Mae) Barnes. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday March 13, 2021 in the Lehi 18th Ward building, 1364 West 1870 North, Lehi. A viewing will be held prior to the funeral from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. There will be a live feed for the funeral at: https://youtube.com/channel/UCBn7XcL9MaLkiMSx9ZBLMeA A viewing will also be held on Friday March 12, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Wing Mortuary on 118 East Main, Lehi, Utah.
