The Banner-Press (David City, Nebr.), June 15, 1972, p. 16, col. 6-8 Services Conducted Saturday Morning For Mrs. Korinek Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Agnes Korinek of Ulysses were conducted Saturday, June 10, from Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Ulysses with Msgr. George J. Schuster officiating. Mrs. Korinek, 88, died Thursday, June 8 at St. Joseph's Villa. Grandsons of the deceased, Darrell and Ronnie Shipley, Dean Semin, Dennis Korinek, Larry Ihde and Bud Hackworth, were pallbearers. Burial was in the Dwight Cemetery. Mrs. Korinek, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Anton Chmelka, was born Dec. 20, 1883, in Moravia. She came to this country as an infant. On Apil 22, 1900, she was married to James Korinek. Five children were born to this union. They lived at Dwight, in Seward County and for the last 35 years Mrs. Korinek was a resident of Ulysses. She was a member of the Catholic Church. Surviving are two sons, James Korinek of Ulysses and Joe Korinek of Salinas, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. John (Laura) Young of Ulysses and Mrs. Leonard (Rose) Shipley of David City; a granddaughter, Mrs. Bud (Georgia) Hackworth of Seward whom she raised from infancy; three brothers, Joe and Louie Chmelka of David City and Fred Chmelka of Emmett, Ida.; two sisters, Mrs. Emil (Anna) Rech of Ulysses and Mrs. Anton (Clodie) Smetak of David City; and 12 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. Preceding her in death were her husband on Dec. 27, 1918; a daughter, Mary Margaret, in April 1928; her parents, four brothers and one sister. __ p. 7, col. 3 CARD OF THANKS – Thanks to everyone who helped at the dinner the day of Mrs. Mary Korinek's funeral.
