CHMELKA Mary Frances Masanec was born in Bohemia and at the age of 18 years was married to Anton Chemelka. They came to America one year later. Twelve children were born to them. She is survived by her husband, together with six sons and four daughters, Ludvick, Lewis, Michael, Fred, Joseph, Emil, Mrs. Mary Korinek, Mrs. Clodie Smetak, Mrs. Agnes Hayek and Miss Anna. Two children preceded her to the other world, Francis, an infant, and Albert, who met death by accidental drowning at the age of 21 years. Mrs. Chmelka had been in poor health for a period of one year, suffering from cancer of the liver. Her loved ones cared for her, sparing neither time nor expense in the fond hope of restoration, but medical skill and careful nursing failed to effect the much hoped-for cure. Her last illness was of two weeks' duration, when she became bedfast, growing weaker each day until the end came peacefully Saturday morning, October 27. Her age was 57 years, 3 months and 27 days. Deceased leaves many friends to regret her going. Funeral services were held at the Catholic church at Dwight Monday morning at 10 o'clock, Rev. Father Pazourek officiating. The six sons of the deceased acted as pallbearers. Interment was in the Dwight cemetery. – Ulysses Dispatch.
