Grand Island (Nebraska) Daily Independent January 21, 1948 Mrs. Anastasia Murphy, 207 South Sycamore, died at her home last night after an illness of one year. She was 76 years of age. Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 9:30 in St. Mary's cathedral. The Rev. Leo Keating, pastor of the cathedral, will celebrate the requiem mass and burial will be in the Grand Island cemetery. Mrs. Murphy was born in Milwaukee, Wis., on Sept 2-(?), 18--(?), to Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Farrell. The family moved to Nebraska when she was seven years old and located at David City. She and Edward B. Murphy were married there and made their home on a farm until 1911 when they moved to Greeley. Mr. Murphy died on Feb 17, 1931. Mrs. Murphy moved to Grand Island four years ago. Survivors include two sons, Clarence T. Murphy, Fullerton, and Lyle J. Murphy, Grand Island; one daughter, Miss Marie Murphy, Grand Island; three grandchildren; two brothers, Joseph Farrell and John Farrell, both of David City; three sisters, Miss Mayme Farrell, Mrs. Stella Doyle and Mrs. Tressia Kovar, all of David City. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by two daughters.
