Bio

Daughter of Thomas and Bridget (Walsh) Farrell. Married John Doyle on February 7, 1888 at St. Francis Catholic Church, Center Township, Butler County, Nebr. He was age 26, born Whiteside County, Illinois, the son of James Doyle and Sarah Lines. The 1900 census lists her as a widow, living with her parents. According to her probate file she died October 12, 1951 survived by her siblings Teressa Kovar, Joseph Farrell, and Mayme L. Farrell, and her nephews and niece (children of Anastasia Murphy) Clarence T. Murphy, Lyle J. Murphy, and Marie Erlandson (Butler County probate file #2934). ''''''''''''''''' Butler County Press (David City, Nebr.), October 25, 1951, p. 2, col. 5 DEATH FOLLOWS LINGERING ILLNESS Mrs. Estella Doyle, 83, passed away at her home at 810 H street Friday morning. Ill for the past year and a half, she had been bedfast most of the time since early spring. Mrs. Doyle was the daughter of Thomas and Bridget Walsh Farrell, long time residents of Center township. She was born Jan. 26, 1868 at Merton, Wis. and came to Butler county with her parents when a young girl. Her marriage to John Doyle took place in St. Francis church Center, in February 1890. Mr. Doyle died in Norfolk in 1912. Mrs. Doyle leaves two sisters Mrs. Teressa Kovar of Omaha and Miss Mayme Farrell of David City and a brother, Joseph Farrell, of Center. The two sisters cared for Mrs. Doyle during her long illness. Last rites were performed Monday morning in St. Mary's Catholic church, with the Rev. W. A. Murphy in charge. Solemn requiem high mass was celebrated with Rev. John Prochar and Rev. Victor Derwinski assisting. St. Mary's choir furnished the music. Burial was in the Farrell family lot in St. Francis cemetery. The pallbearers were Michael Flynn, Earl Fox, Nelson Holmes, Arthur Jones, Louis Kouba and Leo Timoney. Coming from away to the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Murphy of Grand Island, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Murphy and Mrs. Clifford McCray of Fullerton; Mrs. Marjorie Beckius and Nelson Holmes of Omaha, Mrs. Catherine Timoney, Leo and William Timoney, and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Jones of Ulysses.
