The Banner-Press (David City, Nebr.), October 17, 1968, p. 17, col. 4 Funeral Services Held For Joseph J. Farrell Funeral services were conducted Saturday morning, Oct. 12, from St. Mary's Catholic Church in David City for Joseph J. Farrell, 82, who died Thursday, Oct. 10 in Columbus. Pallbearers were Howard and Tom Kovar, Leland and Clarence Murphy, Steven and Albin Kouba and Leonard Siffring. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery. Joseph J., son of Thomas and Bridget Welsh Farrell, was born Sept. 16, 1896 [sic], in David City. He was married to Alice Flynn and one daughter was born to this union. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Survivors are his wife, Alice, and one daughter, Mrs. Celine Calcaterra of Columbus. Preceding him in death were his parents, four sisters and one brother.
