''''''''''''''''' Butler County Press (David City, Nebr.), July 6, 1950, p. 5, col. 4 LAST RITES FOR JOHN FARRELL HELD IN CENTER CHURCH John Edward Farrell, 81, died in an Omaha hospital Saturday, June 24, three days after he had been stricken with a cerebral hemorrhage. The body was brought to David City and funeral services were held in St. Francis' Catholic church in Center Tuesday, June 27. The Rev. Schnoeblein, of Wahoo, said requiem high mass and preached the funeral sermon. The church choir, accompanied by Mrs. Henry Vanderheiden, furnished the music. Burial was in the Farrell family lot in St. Francis cemetery. Earl Fox, Michael Flynn, Lawrence Kearney, Louis Kouba, Joseph Palik and B. J. Schlentz were pallbearers. Survivors of Mr. Farrell are: one brother, Joseph Farrell, living in the Center parish; and three sisters, Mrs. Estella Doyle and Miss Mayme Farrell, of David City, and Mrs. Teresa Kovar, of Omaha. Mr. Farrell was born March 22, 1869, in Richfield, Washington county, Wis. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Farrell, who moved to Nebraska when John was a young boy. They located at Harvard where the family lived for a while, then coming to Butler county to live on a farm in Center township. He engaged in farming after growing to young manhood and continued residence in that vicinity until going to Omaha 2½ years ago to make his home with his sister, Mrs. Kovar. Mr. Farrell had been a long-time and faithful member of St. Francis church. Here from away to attend the funeral services were Mrs. Kovar, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Kovar, Mrs. Marjorie Beckius and Nelson Holmes, of Omaha; Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Murphy and son, Marion and Mrs. J. C. Erlandson, of Grand Island; and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence T.
