Bio

Written by Robert Kemp in 1936. Solomon Kemp, a half-brother of Henry Kemp, my Grandfather, he was born in 1806, died in 1897. Burial in Sheckles graveyard on Little Blue River, not far from Alton, Indiana, in the southern part of the county. He followed farming. He entered government lands at three different times: July 20, 1837, July 1, 1839, and October 7, 1841, in the southern part of the county. Solomon Kemp married Mary (Polly) Brown of Crawford county, May 5, 1832. Solomon Kemp lived northwest of Alton, Indiana, on a farm. He was about 81 years old when he died.
