Bio

Virginia Jane Kemp was the third child born to Reuben and Marcy Kemp. She was born near the Falls of the Ohio River in Kentucky sometime around 1788. Her husband was William Hendrickson. They moved to Dubois County, Indiana around 1818. They raised a large family there. Virginia Jane and William died around 1859-1860. Their graves were in a cemetery that was part of the farm they lived on in Dubois County, Indiana. The farm passed to their son, Vincent Hendrickson in the following years. Many of the graves in the Hendrickson Cemetery were pioneer settlers in Dubois County. As well as Virginia Jane and William, there are many of their children and grandchildren buried here.
