Newspaper articles (Nebraska Signal?) Tuesday afternoon, the twelve year old son of Frank Elznic, who resides on the Luzum farm west of town, was killed by a sandbank caving in on him. A younger brother narrowly escaped with his life. the funeral for the dead boy will be held Thursday from the Catholic church, conducted by Rev. Father Mosier of Odell. Joe Elznic, the twelve-year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Klznic, living on the John Luzum farm 6 miles northwest of Milligan, met a tragic death Tuesday afternoon while playing in a sand pit hear the house with his younger brother. The two boys went out to play, going directly to the sand pit, where they had never played before, and it was for this reason their mother, and older brother could not locate them when they heard one of them crying for help. On coming up to the sand pit, the mother saw the younger one of the two boys buried to his shoulders under a bank of earth that had caved in, the other boy being covered entirely, an evidently was killed by the weight that fell on him. The funeral was held Thursday morning. Father Mosier officiating. The family and relatives have the sympathy of the whole community.
