Bio
Veronica was born Sept 22 1872 in Conover Iowa to John and Barbara Petska and was baptized in the Catholic Church in Spillville Iowa. When she was 11 years old she came with her family in an immigrant car to St. Paul Nebr. From there to Valley County in a covered wagon. On Oct 18, 1892 she was united in marriage to Joseph Beran in the Geranium Catholic Church. To this union 7 children were born, Frank, William John, Edward, Joseph, Agnes and Lillian. The Beran's lived on a farm west of Ord until their retirement in the Fall of 1925, since then they made their home in Ord.
