Athens Weekly Review, Thurs., 10 Mar 1938 (Bk. p. 39) - Mrs. Bob Baker Dies Thursday; Burial Friday - Following a serious illness of several days, Mrs. R. J. (Bob) Baker, 75, died at the family home on North Prairieville street here at 11 o'clock Thurs. morning. Her condition had been critical for several days. Her children, Huford Baker-Athens, Mrs. Letha Patterson-Dallas & Charlie Baker-Chillicothe, TX had been at the bedside for the past week. Funeral services were held Fri. afternoon at 2:00 o'clock from the home here. Interment followed in the Athens city cem. In addition to her children, Mrs. Baker is survived by 2bros & 5sisters as follows: Leroy Gauntt - Dawson & Jim Bob Gauntt, Mrs. Adeline McCarley, Mrs. Daisy Dingler, Mrs. Jeff Young, Mrs. Mary Dingler & Mrs. Sibbie Vandiver, all of LaRue. Her husband died on Apr. 13, 1921 no stone left in cemetery. A space is between Robert (husband) and Lurah Baker (daughter), suspect that is where she lies at rest.
