Athens Weekly Review, 17 Mar 1955 (bk. p. 34) Former Athens Man Dies in San Antonio - Charlie Baker, former Athenian, passed away Sunday morning at 3 o'clock at his home in San Antonio, according to word received here Sunday night. Mr. Baker had been in ill health for a long time. He lived in Athens most of his life & was an employee of Underwood Compress in Athens & in West Texas. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mildred Baker of San Antonio; a stepdaughter; bro: Huford Baker of Athens & sis: Mrs. Letha Patterson of Odessa. Funeral services were held Tues. morning from the Roy Baker Funeral Home in San Antonio with burial in that city. * The San Antonio Light, Mon. 14 Mar 1955 - Mr. Charles Baker, age 69, of 454 West Hill pl., died in a local hosp. Mar 13. Survivors: Wife, Mrs. Mildred Baker-city; dau: Mrs. Earl Hury-city; sis: Mrs. Letha Patterson-Odessa, TX; bro: Huford Baker-Athens, TX. 2gch: D'Ann Hury & Charles Hury-city. Funeral services 10 am Tues., March 15. Interment in Sunset Memorial Park.
