Bio
Julia's mother was Emily (maiden name unknown), who first married a Turley and was in the 1850 Wayne County, North Carolina Census with sons John A. and William A. She married 2nd William Kimsey Cole and by 1860 they have moved to McMinn County, Tennessee and have four children Margaret, Francis Marion, Julia and Mary. On the 27th of July 1876 in McMinn County, Tennessee, Julia married Robert Gibson Welsh, who migrated to the US from Scotland, and they were parents of a son, Robert Bruce, and a daughter, Elizabeth P.'Bessie'. After Julia died in 1880, Robert went to Texas, probably with some of the Turleys, and remarried there. The children stayed with their grandmother, Emily, for while but she died in 1901, and they went to their father in Texas. Son Bruce died of typhoid fever shortly after moving to Texas, and Bessie graduated from Baylor School of Nursing. She never married.
