Bio

William was the son of Emily Turley of Wayne Co. NC, and had a full brother John A. Both sons were merchants in McMinn County, and when Wm. died (single) he left each of his siblings a thousand dollars to educate their children. All are named in his will, and some are half siblings, his mother having married in 1851 to Kimsey Cole. His Cole half siblings are Mary (Logan), Margaret (Payne), Julia (Welsh), and Francis Marion, single.
