Rosenberg Herald, July 13, 1951: Funeral services for Alphonse Alois Vacek, 35, were held at the family home at Fairchild at 8 a.m. Thursday. Requiem high mass was said at St. Michael's Catholic Church at Needville, with Rev. Joseph Klobouk officiating. Mr. Vacek was born in the Fairchild community June 8, 1916 to Mr. and Mrs. Joe B. Vacek. He went to school there and farmed with his father until 1941. He married Miss Bertha Piaklak. They made their home in the Fairchild community where he was a farmer. He is survived by his widow; one daughter, Gloria Ann Vacek; his parents; four sisters, Mrs. Monica Vacek, Mrs. Betty Bienek, Mrs. Alma Sabrsula, all of Fairchild, and Mrs. Estelle Kaderka of Needville. Pallbearers were Joe Gurecky, Lad Stavinoha, Vojt Stavinoha, Frank Vacek, Ernest Rybak, and Ed Chernoch. Interment was in the Catholic Cemetery at Needville with Triska Funeral Home directing.
