Bio

Herald Coaster, February 27, 1968: Funeral services for Mrs. Frances Susan, 89, of Needville, were held at 2 p.m. Monday in St. Paul Presbyterian Church at Needville. Rev. Richard Avery officiated. Mrs. Susan, a native of Czechoslovakia, came to America in 1885 at the age of 7 and settled with her family in Austin County. She moved to Fort Bend County in 1915 with her husband, Joe Susan, and settled in Needville. She had made her home with her son, Edwin Susan, before being in Autumn Hills Convalescent Center at Richmond for a year. Mrs. Susan was a member of S.P.J.S.T. Lodge No. 81 for more than 50 years and a member of St. Paul's Presbyterian Church. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Anna Balis and Mrs. Vlasta Frenzel, both of Richmond, Mrs. Celia Zettel of Houston, and Mrs. Gertrude Lile of Corpus Christi; four sons, Ed Susan of Guy, and Otto Susan, Alfred Susan, and Edwin Susan, all of Needville; two sisters, Mrs. Winnie Stupka of Guy and Mrs. Mary Ustynik of El Campo; a brother, Pete Kasaprek of Needville; and 10 grandchildren. Pallbearers were Raymond Stupka, Darwin Jurchak, Frank Stupka, Johnnie Kasparek, Eugene Balis, and Charlie Stupka. Burial was in the Needville Public Cemetery. Funeral services were under the direction of Garmany & Co. Funeral Directors.
