Herald Coaster, August 9, 2001: Funeral services for Gertrude Sebesta Sodolak, 84, of Needville, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 10, at the Garmany & Carden Needville Chapel, with the Rev. Larry Butcher officiating. Burial will follow in Needville Public Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Nathan Sebesta, Darrell Sebesta, Russell Sebesta, Charles Schiller, and Larry Byrd. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, and from 8 a.m. until service time Friday at the Garmany & Carden Chapel, 3103 School St. in Needville. Mrs. Sodolak was born Feb. 28, 1917 in Caldwell to Ignatz and Fannie Elsig Chauloupka, and she passed away Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2001 at the S.P.J.S.T. Nursing Home in Needville. She was a member of Rosenberg Brethren Church. She is survived by two sons, Gene Sebesta of Rosenberg, and Daniel Sebesta and his wife, Renae, of Needville, and numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold J. Sebesta; her husband, Emil Sodolak; and her son, Wayne Sebesta. Memorials may be made in Mrs. Sodolak's memory to Rosenberg Brethren Church, 5220 Reading Road, Rosenberg, Texas 77471. Services are under the direction of Garmany & Carden Funeral Directors in Needville.
