Gerald (Jerry) Thomas Phillips was born 25 August 1894 in Barber, Logan, Arkansas, USA. He was 2nd of the nine children born to Henry Anderson Phillips (1868-1938 and Margrett Ann [Howard] Phillips (1875-1917). Siblings: Epsie [Phillips] Blanton (1891-1961), Vernie Adeline [Phillips] Compton (1897-1976), Gustie Guy Phillips (1900-1966), Evelyn Ann [Phillips] Ayers (1903-1960), George Harvey Phillips (1905-1987), Limuel Buel Phillips (1908-1966), Paul Anderson Phillips (1912-1964) and Hattie Irene [Phillips] Hughes/Miller (1916-1983). Served in World War I. Married to Ella [Hemby] Baxter in LeFlore County, Oklahoma. Ella was a widow with three children; Percy, Marguerite and Billy. Jerry and Ella had one daughter Linda Sue [Phillips] Bradley (1942-1995). Jerry and Ella divorced and he later married Sybil. Jerry passed away 23 May 1963 in Visalia, Tulare, California and was buried in the Visalia Public Cemetery.
