The West News, West, Texas, Volume 102, No. 24, Edition 1 – Thursday, June 18, 1992: Dr. (W.W.) Bill Plasek died Monday morning, June 15, 1992 in a Temple hospital. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at The Temple Bible Church, with the Rev. Gary DeSalvo officiating. Private graveside services will be at Pendleton Cemetery. Dr. Plasek was born January 19, 1917, in Kaufman County, the son of Joseph and Frances Marek Plasek. He moved with his parents to West at the age of four. He attended the public schools in West. He graduated from Trinity University, and received his Medical Degree from Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. He served in the Navy as a doctor during WWII. He married Miss Tharon Howe on February 3, 1943. Dr. Plasek moved to Temple in 1953 and had been a partner in the Temple Medical Clinic until his retirement in October of 1986. He was a member of Temple Bible Church, and was a member of Gideon International. Dr. Plasek is survived by his wife, Tharon Plasek of Temple; four daughters, Suzanne Guess of Temple, Jennifer Stanich of Clovis, California, Pamela Funderburg of Stearling, Virginia, and Cynthia Harber of Nashville, Tennessee. He is also survived by one sister, Toni Stout of Ennis and ten grandchildren. Sheffield Funeral Home of Temple is in charge of the services.
