The New Leaf, Effingham, Kansas, 08 Jul 1921, Fri, Page 2 William F. Harden, a mighty fine man, died Sunday at his home northeast of Effingham. He had been in poor health for some time. He was born near Old Huron February 10, 1865. He is survived by his wife and two children. He was a good citizen, industrious farmer, exemplary father, ideal husband and a loyal friend and neighbor. The funeral services were conducted in the home at 2:30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, the Rev. H. I. Miller officiating. William H. Harden was a member of the United Workmen, Mystic Workers and Central Protective Association. In these orders he was held in the highest esteem. He was conscientious in all that he did, and his community is in deep mourning on account of his death. HIs surviving children are Charles Harden, who lives on the home place; and Mrs. Annabelle Tuttle, who lives in the same neighborhood. The deceased is also survived by two brothers and a sister. The Horton Headlight, 07 Jul 1921, Thu, Page 7 Will Hardin died at his home in the Old Huron neighborhood Sunday morning. Mr. Hardin suffered a paralytic stroke several days ago and had several strokes since, but he had not been bedfast all the time prior to Saturday when he suffered a relapse which caused his death. He is survived by his wife who is a daughter of T. W. Canter, of this neighborhood. A daughter, Mrs. Frank Tuttle, of Old Huron, and a son, Gerald who with his wife lived at home with his parents. Funeral services were held at the home Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock and the body laid to rest in the Old Huron cemetery.
