Born at Chalfin Bridge, near Waterloo, Illinois, January 19, 1881. Died at St. Andrew's hospital in Murphysboro, Illinois, Friday, October 2, 1925, at 8:27 o'clock p.m., aged 44 years, 8 months and 13 days. Deceased moved to Ava, Illinois, with his father's family in 1900, and was married to Miss Anna Schroeder, October 30, 1902. To this union two children were born, Ruth and Bryan, who, with their mother, survive him. He also leaves the following brothers and sisters to mourn his death: Mrs. Anton Bade, Valmeyer, Ill., Mrs. Fred Boedecker, St. Louis, Mo., Mrs. Walter Cupp, East St. Louis, Ill., Mrs. Alvois Blette, Campbell Hill, Ill., Messrs. Charles and Rufus Fults, Ava, Ill., Messrs. Samuel, Chris and George Fults, half brothers, St. Louis, Mo., and Mrs. Sarah Hensfouth, half sister, Ava, Ill. He was preceded in the grave by his parents and one brother, Alonzo. His father and brother passed away several years ago, and his mother went to her reward a little over a year ago. After his marriage, Mr. Fults lived in Murphysboro, Waterloo and Willisville, returning to Ava two years ago and has been engaged in farming and lumbering. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Waterloo Council No. 1334. The deceased was a quiet, home loving man, an indulgent husband and father; a man of clean, noble character, and a true friend. He was stricken with typhoid fever in the latter part of August and was soon afterward placed in St. Andrew's hospital. After lingering six weeks he passed peacefully to his rest, surrounded by his loved ones. He seemed to realize that the end was drawing near, and to understand the last loving, tender words that were spoken to him as the Angel of Death gently and silently bore his soul away to the Land of Gladness.
