Bio

Funeral services for Mrs. Rose G. Blette, 81, of New Athens, will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Agatha's Catholic Church in New Athens. Mrs. Blette died at 2:55 a.m. today at the Styrest Nursing Home in Carbondale. She had been ill about six weeks. She was born at Chafflin Bridge in Monroe County Nov. 28, 1889, the daughter of Christopher and Margaret Mortimer Fults. She was married to Alois Blette in Ava March 4, 1914. He preceded her in death in April, 1938. Survivors include one son, RobertA. Blette of Battle Creek, Mich.; two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Schneider of New Athens and Mrs. Ruby Damenan [sic?] of Percy; one brother, Charlene Fults of Ava; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Four children and 20 brothers and sisters preceded her in death. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Ava. Friends may call at the Hull Funeral Home in New Athens after 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
