Bio

Mrs. Sarah A. Henerfouth, 85, died in St. Francis Hospital in Litchfield Saturday. She was born in Monroe County in 1863 and had lived in Ava since 1900. She was married in 1884 to Henry A. Henerfouth, who preceded her in death. Survivors include one son, Walter of St. Louis; two daughters, Ms. T. K. Knauer of Columbia and Mrs. R. E. Dean of Litchfield; four brothers, Sam and Chris Fults of St. Louis and Charles and Rufus Fults, both of Ava; and three sisters, Mrs. Anton Bade of Valmeyer, IL, Mrs. Ellen Boedecker of St. Louis and Mrs. Rose Blette of Campbell Hill. One son preceded her in death. The funeral service will be held today at the Presbyterian Church in Ava, the Rev. Kyle Shown officiating, assisted by Rev. W. P. Campbell. Services were to be under the auspices of Wilson Funeral Home. Burial was to be in Ava Evergreen Cemetery. Source: The Daily Independent, Mon, Dec 13, 1948, page 1
