Bio

Sarah (Sadie) Jane Hughes, was born February 5, 1874, in Clinton Twp., Barron Co., Wis., daughter of George Hughes and Harriet Appleman. She died April 13, 1919 and was buried in Sugar Grove Cemetery. On July 3, 1889 Sarah married Charles Frank (Jack) Hanchett at Barron, Wis. Charles was born in Eau Claire, Wis., son of W. S. and E.E. Hanchett. He was a laborer living in Maple Grove Twp. at the time of their marriage. Their children were; Nellie A. and Janette M. Hanchett. Sadie's second husband was Austin Ellsworth Maxon.
