Leona Hardison passed away November 1, 1987 in Vernon, Texas. She was born February 21, 1910 to Gus and Anna Schuette Kahl. She married Charlie I. Hardison in Vernon, Texas. Leona was a sweet and kind person, nursing her mother through a heartbreaking illness as a young woman. She was an expert seamstress and a wonderful cook. Leona was a devoted wife and mother and a loving grandmother. She is survived by one son, Joe Paul and one daughter, Mary Sue Harvey; 7 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sisters Carrie Sanders and Hattie Sanders and brother Lee Kahl. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; brothers Irvin Kahl in 1977 and Alfred Kahl in 1968; sisters Lena Streit in 1986 and Selma Koenning in 1973. Services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 3, 1987 in the Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Ron Fox officiating. Music was presented by Betty Waggoner, Jo Huff and Nannie Briggs. Interment was in Eastview Memorial Park in Vernon under the diection of Sullivan Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Dickie Nations, Gerald Pyle, Bobbie Love, Gerald Haseloff, Bryan Bumpas and Mike Melton.
