Rebecca "Ruby" Bray, 84, of West, died Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2011, in West. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours, with Msgr. Isidore Rozycki as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Martin's Cemetery. A rosary will be recited 6 p.m. Wednesday at Aderhold Funeral Home, with visitation to follow until 8 p.m. Ruby was born near Tours, Texas, to the late Joseph Frank and Elizabeth (Snider) Podsednik. She attended schools in West. On October 6, 1953 she was united in marriage to Henry Leon Bray in Toledo, Ohio. Ruby worked as a waitress at Cattleman's Steakhouse in Dallas for 20 years. She then was employed by Miller Family Steakhouse in Waco for eight years, until her retirement in 1997. Ruby was a member of St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours. She loved to gamble, knit, read, had a great sense of humor, and loved spending time with family. Ruby is preceded in death by brothers, Jodie Podsednik and Ed Podsednik; sisters, Adeline Davis, Josephine Matus, Louise Popp, Antonia Brooks, Ernestine Janek, and Wanda Bridges; and a niece Shirley Uptmor. Survivors include her twin brother, Robert Podsednik and wife, Louise, of West; many wonderful nieces and nephews, including Bo Brooks and wife, Darlene and Steve Podsednik, all of West, Joyce Wilhite and husband, Tommy, of Bruceville-Eddy, Bill Dudik and wife, Pam, Frank Zotz and wife, Lisa and Joe Ed Matus, all of Dallas, Jackie Burroughs and husband, Roy, of Shreveport, LA, and Wilburn Matus and wife, Esther, of Salado; many great-nieces and nephews, including Brittney Hand and Jayme Brooks; a step-daughter, Dolores Starnes and husband, Phil, of Dallas; and many other relatives and friends Waco Tribune-Herald: 10/5/2011...B8
