The Salina Journal (Salina, KS), Tuesday, March 9, 1999; pg. 9 Irene A. Reining BENKELMAN, Neb. — Irene A. Reining, 75, Benkelman, died Thursday, March 4,1999, at Dundy County Hospital, Benkelman. Mrs. Reining was born Irene A. Ostdick (sic) on Nov. 28, 1923, at Indianola. A lifetime area resident, she was a farm wife and worked at Carpenter's Bakery and Hamilton's Drug Store. She had also worked as a receptionist for Shriner's Optical and Burrow's Optical before retiring. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and Altar Society, the Benkelman Country Club and the Dundy County Bowling League. Survivors include her husband, Al of Benkelman; three daughters, Rose Marie Clark of Gypsum, Colo., Marcy Ham of Benkelman and Linda Classman of Salina, Kan.; four sisters, Roberta O'Leary of St. Francis, Kan., Irma Johnson and Kathleen Ham, both of Benkelman and Yvonne Eggers of Bird City, Kan.; two brothers, Louis Ostdick (sic) of Northglenn, Colo., and J.D. Ostdick (sic) of Fresno, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. The funeral was March 6, 1999, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, the Rev. Doug Dietrich officiating. Forch Funeral Chapel, Benkelman, handled arrangements.
